The day turned out to be much better than the weatherman was
predicting at the beginning of the week. It was sunny with
temperatures in the mid-seventies. As this was my first attempt at
setting up and running an orienteering event it was a good experience
for me. Everyone seemed to have a good time and were happy with the
course I set with the limited terrain available. There was one
comment by those who ran the yellow course. The third control (KQ)
was in the wrong place for the event. I set the course up Thursday
evening with my son Steven and we placed the control in the desired
position. When I picked up the controls Saturday, I found it ~ 50
meters down the road from where we placed it. I am sorry the control
was moved. There were some suggestions made as how to improve my clue
sheet and I will do better the next time I run an event. I want to
thank everyone that came to the event and hope to see you at future
events.
